I’m not going to type a fancy intro for this post. Lets get right down to it!
- ITEM 1: Portable Sound Soother
This little gadget has saved us from potential meltdowns SO many times! We clip it right on to Teddy’s car seat and it calms him right down. We also use it at bedtime throughout the entire night. It has many different sounds to choose from – Teddy’s favorite being the rain. It also has an automatic timer in case you wanted to save battery life. We love this thing!
- ITEM 2: Hatch Baby Grow Changing Pad & Scale
OMG! Best. Invention. Ever. This changing pad eliminates the need for changing pad covers and the need for washing! I simply clean it with antibacterial wipes if Teddy makes a mess. DONE! Even better – it’s a SCALE! All you need to do is download an app on your phone and place your baby on the pad. No more wondering if your baby is eating enough food and anxiously awaiting doctor’s appointments. Not to mention it’s pretty sleek looking!
- ITEM 3: Water Wipes
I love these wipes because they are made of WATER ONLY and they hold moisture really well (see how I avoided the worst moist?). I can use them all over his body/face and without having to worry about him breaking out in a rash.
- ITEM 4: BOPPY LOUNGER
Teddy is in this lounger ALL DAY. I take it everywhere. If I’m cooking, I bring it on the counter. If I’m in the shower, I’ll put it on the floor. If I go to my parents house, I bring it in the car. When he’s hanging out, he’s hanging out there. Get the gist? Get it!
- ITEM 5: Snuggle Me Organic
Teddy LOVES his Snuggle Me Organic! It’s SO soft and gently wraps around his body when he’s placed inside. Teddy really enjoys napping here. In the middle of the night when Teddy used to feed, I would put this in between us in bed and set him in there to prop his bottle. It also fits perfectly inside the Halo Bassinest (*my next must have*). It is not approved for sleeping, so we would place the Snuggle Me inside the bassinet for nap times and he would instantly fall asleep.
- ITEM 6: Halo Bassinest
It’s so funny because I wasn’t even going to put this on my registry. Last minute, I decided to add it because I wanted the convenience of being able to easily grab Teddy bedside. Strangely enough, I had a feeling I would have a c-section and wouldn’t be mobile enough to get out of bed countless times for night feedings. It was so nice to just reach out with one arm and swivel him directly onto my bed. Teddy is 4 months old and is STILL loving the bassinest. When Teddy was very little, I also used the Newborn Insert to make the space a little cozier for him. Now, he’s almost too big for it. Where did the time go?
- ITEM 7: Babymoov Flat Head Preventative Pillow
We have used this pillow from day 1 to prevent Teddy from getting a flat spot on his head. It has worked so far! We bring it everywhere he goes! He sleeps in his Bassinest with it and we also put it on his changing pad and on his lounger. If your child already has a flat spot, this can also assist in rounding it out.
- ITEM 8: Love to Dream SWADDLE
No idea what I would have done without this swaddle! Teddy loved keeping his arms up when he was sleeping, so when I saw this, I knew he would love it! I was right. We had to get 2 more because he wore it every night to bed. They also make a 50/50 version where the arm pieces can zipper off to transition them out. Teddy wore this every night for sleeping until around 10 weeks.
- ITEM 9: Aden + Anais Muslin Blankets
I’m sure there are many brands of blankets, but something about the feel of the Aden + Anais muslins make them my favorite. They get even better with every wash too! Teddy does not like to be hot – so we use them often for a light blanket when he’s sleeping/napping. I also keep one in my diaper bag when traveling. It’s great to use when we go to doctor’s appointments and I need to wrap him up in something while he waits for the doctor (naked, ha!). I’ve also used them on my shoulder for burping. All around these are just great to have around the house!
- Item 10: Fisher Price Rock n Play
Many people use this for night sleeping – however after doing research I read it was not approved for sleeping. Supervised napping? Yes. I’m sure he would have been FINE, but as a first time mom I was nervous about everything sleep related. This is the article that convinced me against using it for sleeping. A few of my friends also suspected that using this for sleeping may have been the reason their baby developed a flat spot. I made sure to place the Babymoov pillow in it when he’s inside. It also has a gentle vibration that calms Teddy down. I like keeping this upstairs and dragging it wherever I need it. Sometimes the shower, other times his nursery, or outside on the porch. It’s very light and easy to move!
- BONUS ITEM: Oogiebear Nose & Ear Cleaner
I discovered this AMAZING tool late in the game. I originally purchased the Nose Frida, but actually like this tool better. However I will note that the Nose Frida works better for, not to be gross, wet snot. For the dry ones, the Oogiebear is amazing. One side is for the nose and the other side is for earwax. Added plus: the tool is designed NOT to go in too far if you are nervous about using it.
